    Kathy Stotler, CAD Document, En Vacances
    En vacances- In this unit, students will learn to describe what they did over the summer. After learning new vocabulary and communicative functions, they will use old and new vocabulary structures to complete the following online form. When all students have completed the form we will examine the trends in the class in a spreadsheet and use the document as a springboard for oral discussion.
    As a culminating assessment, students will create a video using Bubbleplyin which they will narrate via text what they did over the summer. They will be provided with a list of requirements prompting them to discuss what they saw and did, where they went and more. They may select a video on youtube or use an actual video of their own. Below is an example the teacher can show to the class. This example describes a trip to Paris which could also tie nicely into a travel unit.

    My name is Kathy Stotler and I have been teaching ESL and French at Park Middle School and Scotch Plains Fanwood High School for 7 years. My students are in school today. I am not :)
    I am creating this site using a wikispace. Its a great way for teachers and students to collaborate and share information.
    When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my 418 month old husband and 11 month old daughter.
    {Stotler-3.jpg} {Stotler-5.jpg} {Stotler-2.jpg}
    A couple of my favorite websites are Facebook, to connect with my friends and family , Babycenter to learn about caring for an infant, and About.com to read up on the French language and culture.
    I am most like a {Stotler-ball.jpg} because I am made up of so many different components and experiance and I am always bouncing around from idea to idea. I am a true type-Orange! I love this movie!
    Voki is a great site that makes speaking French fun! Students and teachers can make their own avatars and record their own voice via a microphone, a telephone, by typing text or uploading a sound file. They can then record and drop in my drop box or if possible upload it to my wikispace. This is a great program that allows students to express themself in fun way. They do need to set up an account to save it.

    Another fun site to use is Voicethread. This site allows you to take images and record sounds or written commentary as well as doodling on the photo at the same time. It allows for interpersonal communication between viewers.
    Glogster is a fun way to make posters online. You can add pictures, videos, music, text or anything else you can think of. What a great way to have students describe themselves!
    Wordle allows users to copy a block of text into a window which in turn creates a large piece of word art like the one below. This Wordle is called "Pourquoi etudier le francais?"
    ToonDoo allows users to make their own comics.
    One of my favorites! Xtranormal allows students to create movies in class. Away with pencil and pen dialogues, students can now make movies, with interruptions like doorbells, phones and even farts!! And best of all there are voice soundtracks that allow students to select the language and gender of the speaker.
